Brief description:
The Taiwan
Government through the Ministry of Education (MOE) offers Bachelors, Masters,
and PhD scholarships for international students who wants to study in
Taiwan Colleges and Universities through the Taiwan Scholarship Program.
The program aims to
encourage outstanding international students (excluding students from Mainland
China, Hong Kong and Macau) to undertake degree studies in Taiwan so as to
familiarize themselves with the academic environment in Taiwan and promote
communication, understanding and friendship between Taiwan and countries around
the world.

Field of study:
The scholarships
cover a wide range of disciplines offered by Taiwan Universities and Colleges.
Target Group:
The scholarships are
targeted to international students from Africa, Asia, South America, Europe,
USA and the rest of the world.
Scholarship value/inclusions:
(i) Tuition and
payment of academic fees, including credit fee.
Upon validation of
tuition and above fees, the MOE awards each recipient per semester up to
NTD40,000. If the total amount of these fees should exceed NTD40,000, the
remainder of all costs shall be covered by either the recipient, or the
recipient’s college, whereas over NTD40,000 are the sole responsibility of the
recipient. Tuition and academic fees do not include any of the following:
administration fees, thesis advising fees, insurance premiums, accommodation,
Internet access, all of which are payable by the recipients.
(ii) Subsistence
allowance
The MOE offers each
recipient undertaking undergraduate studies a monthly stipend of NTD15,000; it
offers each recipient undertaking postgraduate studies a monthly stipend of
NTD20,000.
The maximum period
of each scholarship is four years for undergraduate programs, two years for
master programs, and four years for doctorate programs. The maximum length of
the total awards for each recipient undertaking a combination of studies is
five years.
Eligibility:
(i) Applicants must
be a foreign national with a high-school diploma or post-secondary degree(s),
with an excellent academic record, and be of good moral character.
(ii) Applicants are ineligible if they meet the following criteria:
1. Are R.O.C.
nationals or overseas Chinese students
2. Are already
registered or have obtained student status at any university/college in Taiwan.
Graduating students pursuing further studies are exempt from this rule.
3. Have already
studied in Taiwan for the same level of degree as the one in which they
currently intend to enroll.
4. Are exchange or
dual/joint degree students admitted in accordance with academic cooperation
agreements between local universities/colleges and international
universities/colleges.
5. Have been a
recipient of the Taiwan Scholarship for over a total of five years.
6. Have had, in the
past, their Taiwan Scholarship or Huayu Enrichment Scholarship from the MOE
revoked.
7. Are recipients of
any other scholarship or subsidy offered by the Taiwan government or education
institutions in Taiwan. This excludes subsidies offered by
universities/colleges to cover tuition and other fees exceeding the scholarship
limit.
(iii) Applicants
should apply directly for admission within the deadlines specified by each
university/college listed in the “Association of Taiwan Scholarship Program
Schools” (see Appendix 1). Applications for admission outside of the
universities/colleges participating in the Taiwan Scholarship Program are
automatically disqualified and will not be returned.

Scholarship
applicants should apply directly for admission to Taiwan
universities and colleges of their choice within their specified
application deadlines.
For the application
process, guidelines and forms, types of scholarship and quotas, selection
criteria and deadlines, applicants should directly contact the relevant Taiwan
Embassy or Representative Office, as early as possible or by 31 January each year.
To apply for the
scholarship, the applicant must send all completed documents to the nearest
Taiwan Embassy or Representative Office in his/her home country. In
principle, the yearly application period is from 1
February through 31 March. However, the actual application period will
be in accordance with the general regulations of the local Taiwan
Representative Offices.

The University of East Anglia awards over £1,000,000 of scholarships each year to support international students in their studies. The awards are made by individual Schools of Study in the University. All international students (outside the European Union) are considered for a scholarship of between 10% and 50% of tuition fees. In order to be considered for a UEA scholarship you do not need to make a separate application. Please indicate on your application for admission that you wish to be considered for a scholarship. It is important to make an application as early as possible because they are considered as they are received. So apply early to make sure of the best chance of success. If you are granted a scholarship, you will be informed at the time you receive your offer of a place at UEA. Scholarships are awarded to students on the basis of academic merit and are normally for the duration of the period of study – three years for Bachelor and PhD degrees and one year for Masters programmes. SCHOLARSHIP DESCRIPTION
Established in 1998 from a generous bequest by Jane M. Klausman, a member of the Zonta Club of Syracuse, New York USA, and the 1990-1995 Zonta International Parliamentarian, the Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship is awarded annually to women pursuing undergraduate or Master’s degrees in business management.
The program operates at the Zonta club, district and international levels. Zonta clubs provide awards for club recipients. Zonta International awards scholarships of US$1,000 each at the district level and twelve international scholarships in the amount of US$5,000 each. The Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarships are awarded annually and may be used for tuition, books or living expenses at any university, college or institution offering accredited business courses and degrees.
ELIGIBILITY
Women pursuing a business or business-related degree who demonstrate outstanding potential in the field are eligible. Online students are also eligible. Members and employees of Zonta International or the Zonta International Foundation are not eligible to apply for the Scholarships.
APPLICATION PROCESS
The Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship program operates at the club, district and international levels of Zonta International. To apply, please contact the Zonta club nearest you. Applicants must be nominated by a local Zonta club. Applications selected by Zonta clubs are sent to their respective Zonta governors. A district evaluating committee selects one applicant per district to submit to Zonta International Headquarters. The Zonta International Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship Committee selects twelve international recipients from the district applicants. Applications for the 2011 Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarships are now available.
DEADLINE
Applications must be completed and presented to Zonta clubs according to the club’s assigned deadline. A club recipient is selected, and the application is presented to the governor by 1 July 2011. Your application should consist of the following:
1. Your piece of work (either in German or English) in both digital form (CD/DVD) and hard copy.
2. A brief summary of your work (ca. one page).
3. A covering letter where you also state your estimated graduation date.
4. Curriculum Vitae (including information on traineeship, work abroad etc.) and a summary of your interim study marks and results.
5. Written confirmation from your university that you are registered on an appropriate Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree program.

We support undergraduates, graduates, and PhD students in all subjects who embrace the Green cause, share the fundamental values of the Heinrich Böll Foundation, can demonstrate an excellent academic record, and are socially and politically active. applications can be handed in by:
German students, students who have gained their university entrance qualification from a German school school (‘Bildungsinländer_innen’) and students from EU countries
-Applicants must study a subject within the areas of Mathematics, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Enineering (university or college, e.g. Fachhochschule; degrees: Bachelor, Diploma, State Examination AND Master)
and / or
-Applicants must study in a college, e.g. Fachhochschule (all subjects; degrees: Bachelor, Diploma, State Examination AND Master)
- Applicants studying for a first degree (degree: Bachelor, State Examination or Diploma) can apply for a scholarship before their studies begin; applications are possible within the first three semesters at the time of application.
- Applicants studying in a Master’s programme can apply for a scholarship before their studies begin; applications are possible within the first semester of the Master’s programme at the time of application.
- Funding priority is given to subjects within the areas of Mathematics, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Engineering with a focus on sustainability and environmental and energy issues.
- For applications from EU countries: The regional focus is on Central and Eastern Europe.
- Applicants should provide proof that they have been accepted as a doctoral student by a German institution of higher education.
- For applications from EU countries: The regional focus is on Central and Eastern Europe.
- Priority is given to dissertation topics that are related to the main working areas of the Heinrich Böll Foundation.
