Brief description:
VLIR-UOS awards training scholarships in Belgium to students from developing countries . In short training programmes, lasting one to four months, the focus is on transferring skills rather than knowledge, thus creating opportunities for cooperation and networking.

Number of Awards:
Every year, VLIR-UOS awards up to 70 scholarships to training participants.

Residents and nationals of the following countries are eligible for a VLIR-UOS scholarship:

Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Palestinian Administered Areas, Philippines, Vietnam
Latin America
Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Nicaragua, Peru, Surinam
Scholarship value/inclusions:
The scholarships cover all related expenses.
Eligibility/Admission Requirements:
Applicants applying both for academic admission and for a VLIR-UOS scholarship need to consider both the admission requirements to the and the scholarship criteria. Applicants should therefore refer to the websites of the participating Training Programmes for specific eligibility/admission requirements.
Scholarship Criteria:
Study results will be taken into consideration during the selection but relevant professional experience and prospects for applying the acquired insights after return to the country are the most important academic selection criteria.
