Job Description : In facilitating academically able school-leavers to come and study at Victoria, the University recognises them as New Zealand’s scientists and scholars of the future. Scholarships will be offered to the top school-leaver applicants enrolling in any of Victoria University’s Bachelor degree programmes.
Purpose of award
To recruit high achieving undergraduate students to Victoria University of Wellington and to support them in their studies. These scholarships will be offered to the top school-leaver applicants enrolling in any Victoria University’s Bachelor degree programmes.

Selection criteria
* Applicants should be intending to enrol as a full-time student commencing a Bachelor’s degree at Victoria University.
* Applicants with NCEA Certificates level 2 or above endorsed with Excellence. Excellence credits must be obtained in Year 11 or 12, credits gained in Year 13 can not be included. Applicants without this endorsement may be considered based on their personal circumstances. Such applications must be accompanied by a full letter of support from their School explaining their circumstances.
* Applicants with an equivalent level of achievement in an alternative qualification will also be considered. Examples of alternative qualifications considered are; IB, A levels or Rudolph Steiner qualifications.
* Attention will be given to the school subjects relevant to the course of study applicants intend to pursue at University.
All offers of scholarships will be conditional upon the award recipient gaining,University Entrance.

Most will be for one year. However, based on achievement in the first year of study a number will be held for up to three years.

Decision makers
The University Scholarships Committee will make the selection of scholarship recipients.

How and when do students learn of the decision?
Applicants will be notified immediately after their application has been assessed as to whether they have been selected for a scholarship.

What conditions are attached to acceptance of this award?
The holding of the scholarship will be conditional upon the student being fully enrolled in a full-time, full year programme. Scholarship recipients who do not return for the second semester will be required to partially repay the scholarship.
